LD Dennis, age 80, of Amarillo died Wednesday, August 22, 2012.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2012 in Brentwood Chapel at Schooler Funeral Home. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
LD Dennis was born January 2, 1932, to Leola Jones and Lowell Dennis in Clarksville, Texas.
In 1949, at the age of 17, he joined the Army and served proudly for our country. He was honorably discharged due to being injured.
LD worked for the City of Amarillo for many years and also worked at a variety of other jobs.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and four nieces.
Survivors include a sister, Virginia Woods and close friend, Minor Irvin; nephew, Alvin Woods, and close friend, Valenica; niece, Joyce Miller and husband, Michael; nephew, Nolan Jr. Woods and wife, Dana, all of Amarillo; nephew, Randy Woods and wife, Gwen of Corsicana, Texas; niece, Rossetta Woods, of Wichita Falls, Texas; ten grand-nieces; 20 grand nephews; and 40 great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews; and other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-7:00 p.m., Friday, August 31 at Schooler Funeral Home.
