Larry Wayne Harris, 70, of Amarillo, formerly of Hereford, went to be with his Lord, September 14, 2010. Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be at The Brentwood Chapel of Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia at 4:00 p.m. with Chaplain Bob Crass of Craig Methodist Retirement Community officiating. Larry was born in Slaton, Texas October 19, 1939. He and Betty Ritchey were lifelong friends and were married February 14, 1959. Larry farmed in the Hereford area for 23 years before going into retail ag equipment sales in 1977. He was a member of Trinity Fellowship in Hereford and after moving to the Craig in October of 2009 he attended chapel services there. He was a positive man and never complained throughout his struggle with Lou Gehrig’s disease.Larry was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Pauline Harris of Ralls, Texas and his two sisters Wanda Purser of Houston Texas and Marilyn Brookman of Lubbock Texas. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty and two daughters and their husbands Patty and Arthur Pare of Lubbock, Texas and Sheree and Tom Carr of Amarillo, Texas, four grandchildren and their spouses, Lindsee and Ben Coleman, Matthew Pare, Whitnee and Scott Brock and Jennifer Pare. Two great grandchildren Tyler and Cailee Coleman.
