Lavada Urton, 69, of Amarillo died December 8, 2012.
Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 13, 2012 in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Lavada was born November 19, 1943 in Roswell, New Mexico to Clyde and Beatrice Lawson. While working on her degree at Eastern New Mexico University, she met the love of her life, Mike Urton. During their nearly 49 years of marriage, Mike’s work required travel and often moving to various cities in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Lavada was always active and happiest when she was at home working on new projects for the home, in the garden or just being with her family. For many years, she was active in her son’s motocross passion, forming relationships with many of the other families – many of whom she still remained in contact with to this day. Lavada will be sorely missed by both family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters.
Lavada is survived by her husband, Mike, a daughter, Shelly Cree and husband Brian, a son, Todd Urton and wife Vickie, one brother, two sisters, and four grandchildren, Tatum, Elijah, Bryce, and John-Michael.
