LaVerne Rice Kimble, 82, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Church of Christ in Henrietta, Texas. Minister Todd Davis will officiate. Inurnment will be in Hope Cemetery, Henrietta. Local arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Mrs. Kimble was born the youngest of 11 children on September 12, 1930, in Lockney, Texas to Virgil and Dovie Gordon Lambert. She married Herman Rice and later married Raymond A. Kimble. She also owned and operated the Steak House Restaurant in Henrietta for 20 years.
LaVerne loved the Lord with all her heart. She was an active member of Central Church of Christ and was previously a member of the Randolph Church of Christ in Universal City, TX and Church of Christ in Henrietta, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Herman Marshal Rice and Raymond A. Kimble; a beloved son, Bobby Herman Rice; ten brothers and sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Jeane Goodwin and husband, John of Amarillo, Darlene Harris and family of Denton, North Carolina, and Betty Anderson and family of Justin, Texas; grandson, Bobby M. Dye of Twin Falls, Idaho; sister-in-law, Malinda Kimble and husband Calvin of Amarillo; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
