LaVesta Marsha Kelley Graham

LaVesta Marsha Kelley Graham, age 88 formerly of Amarillo, entered into Heaven on November 26, 2024 in McKinney, Texas.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. LaVesta was born in Pampa, Texas, to her parents, Henry and Corinne Kelley, on April 9, 1936. She married the enchanting Ray Graham on April 13, 1953, in Pampa. LaVesta cherished her family, and nothing made her happier than caring for Ray and their three children, Ronnie, Marsha, and Terry.

LaVesta was a multifaceted and exceptionally talented lady. She painted, created beautiful ceramic pieces, and was a fabulous seamstress, making all of Marsha’s clothing for a time. LaVesta enjoyed raising animals, but her pride and joy was Zeke her prized macaw. Family and friends alike requested her delicious homemade cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls, pies, and cakes, a request she eagerly filled. After the children were almost through school, LaVesta went to work for the AISD in the Fannin Junior High Cafeteria. She worked there for around five years. Not ever wanting to become idle and the desire to always have her own spending money, after leaving AISD, she went into property prep. She continued working until her health declined after, of all things, falling off a ladder!

Soon after the death of Ray in 2017, LaVesta moved to McKinney to be closer to her daughter Marsha. Throughout her life she attended church. While in Amarillo, the family attended Canyon Country Church and when she moved to the metroplex she attended Grace Point Family Church in Anna. LaVesta left a beautiful legacy of love and will forever be missed.

She was preceded in death by parents; Henry Ward and Corinne Holmes Kelley; husband Ray Graham: son Ronnie Lee Graham; sisters, Ida Zuma Kelley and Nancy Everson; brothers, Elwyn Kelley and Buster Kelley; and two great grandchildren, Cason Garret Cockrell and Gyntry Wayne Graham.

LaVesta is survived by her daughter, Marsha Ray Cockrell of Frisco; son, Terry Wayne Graham of Amarillo; a sister; Achsa Duncan of Hugoton, Kansas; brother, Alfred Kelley of Pampa; sister-in-law Betty Graham of St. Peters, Missouri; her grandchildren, Garret Cockrell Jr. and wife Kristin, Gregory Graham and wife Chylo, Corinne Graham, and Christopher Lee and his wife Bridgett; Great Grandchildren, Jensen Cockrell, Kennedy Cockrell, Kynzee Graham, Rayleigh Graham, Latham Longbine, Danniel Akins, Axel Cox, Nicole Weinhold and husband Sebastian, and Austin Lee; and four great-great grandchildren, Keizer Weinhold, Xander Weinhold, Ryker Lee, John Lee, and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
