A vigil service will be held on Friday June 18, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Schooler Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Saturday June 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.Leo Joseph Mack was born to Lewis Brigham Mack and Eleanor Marie Waldron Mack in Amarillo, Texas on October 22, 1927. He was a merchant marine that served at the end of World War II. Leo served in the U.S. Navy during Korea. Leo attended St. Mary’s Academy and Price College in Amarillo. He was an electrician and was a member of Knights of Columbus and a member of IBEW for 58 years. Leo loved the outdoors and taking trips to the ocean. He loved photography, and fishing. Leo loved being with his best friend and mother of their children, Maureen Mack. He was a man that was loved by many and will be dearly missed. The family shares their deep appreciation for the VA Nursing Home nurses and staff for taking good care of Leo for many years. He is preceded in death by son Kevin J. Mack, sister Evelyn B. Detten; sister Florence Mack ;brother Gordon Mack; parents Lewis and Eleanor Mack.He is survived by son Brian Mack and wife Jayne of Amarillo, daughters; Kathleen Wittler of Amarillo, Eileen Merriman and husband Tom of Amarillo, Mary Margaret Cox and husband Allen of Denver, Colorado; sister Iola Scott of Oregon; grandchildren Austin and Brian Jr. of Amarillo, Caitlin of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Michelle of Amarillo, Madeline and Emily of Amarillo. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Thomas E. Creek Hospice Angel/Flag Fund at 6010 Amarillo Blvd. West Amarillo, Texas 79109.
