Leon Haiduk, 89, of Panhandle died Friday, May 4, 2012.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Panhandle. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the church with the Rev. Mieczyslaw Przepiora as celebrant. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
Mr. Haiduk was born May 15, 1922, in White Deer to Henry and Sally Haiduk. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He married Vivian Heath on May 23, 1943, in Panhandle. Mr. Haiduk was a lifelong farmer, rancher and member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vivian, on Jan. 28, 2012; a brother, Al Haiduk; and a sister, Cecilia Andrae.
Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie Allen and husband Herrick and Connie Bryant and husband James, all of Amarillo and Barbara Ruzich and husband Bobby of Panhandle; three sons, Ray Haiduk and wife Mary of Lubbock, Mike Haiduk and wife Patrina of Spring and Tim Haiduk and wife Regina Chance of Panhandle; a sister, Rose Reining and husband Vernon of Panhandle; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and his two faithful pet companions, Jake and Tom.
