Leonard Charles Ball

Private Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.Leonard was born on November 22, 1923 in East Lake, Michigan to John and Caroline Ball. He was the youngest of thirteen children. Leonard graduated from Manistee High School.  He married Virginia Bauman in 1950 and is a WWII veteran. He was employed for 32 years at Packaging Corporation of America and retired in 1984. He was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic parish in Manistee and St. Joseph’s School. He was a founding supporter of Manistee Catholic Central and active in the MCC Band Boosters and Athletic Association. Leonard was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in 2006. Leonard was a lifelong resident of Manistee, Michigan but he recently resided at Seville Estates in Amarillo, Texas, for the past two years.Leonard was an avid fisherman, gardner and lover of all sports. He was an ardent fan of all things Michigan State Spartans. He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia and his infant son, Jeffery. He is survived by his son, Kevin Ball and wife Roxann of Amarillo, Texas; numerous sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special friend, Peggy Gillespie as well as his many friends and wonderful staff at Seville Estates.
