A celebration of Pete’s life will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 10am at the Church of Christ of Groom, 101 Newcome Ave in Groom, Texas.
Pete was born on May 31, 1948 in Amarillo, Texas to Calvin “Shorty” and Peggy Lou (Morrow) Ham. He grew up in Groom, Texas where he graduated from Groom High School. During his high school years, he was a member of the Groom Tigers Track Team where he participated in Pole Vaulting. He also excelled in his studies due largely to the fact that he was fascinated by numbers and science. Pete was incredibly quick witted and figured out most problems with ease.
Following graduation, Pete spent some time in the Texas State Technical Institute (TSTI) before finally venturing off into a career with the City of Amarillo Waste Water Management. After many years of dedicated service, Pete retired as Plant Manager of the Hollywood Waste Water Treatment Substation.
In his spare time, Pete enjoyed being a sort of omnivert who had lots of friends and acquaintances but preferred staying home. He loved to fish and greatly enjoyed spending time in Red River, New Mexico watching humming birds. Aside from his many pastimes, Pete could also be found enjoying a good burger and fries wherever he could.
Pete is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dale and Dusty Ham. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Peggy (Chism) Ham to whom he exchanged vows with on February 7, 2012 in Panhandle, Texas, daughter Kristi Clausen and husband Ryan, sons Justin Ham and wife Tisha and Jason Ham; and his brother Sandy Ham and wife Gay as well as many other beloved family and dear friends.
