Leonard Koetting

Leonard Koetting age 82 of Groom, Texas died September 15, 2022 in Amarillo.

Public viewing will be on Sunday, September 18th from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  The rosary will be said at 7:00 PM.  The funeral mass will be on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The celebrant will be Rev. Hrudaya Kondamudi.

Leonard was born in Groom on September 10, 1940 to his parents Henry and Sybilla Schaefer Koetting.  He attended and graduated from Groom High School where he played football and won regionals during his senior year.  Leonard was a member of Immaculate Heart Catholic Church and was an exceptionally hard worker throughout his entire life.  He enjoyed hunting and visiting. Now from time to time he was a bit ornery even perhaps a bit cranky but he made the world a little brighter.  FM 2300 will never be the same.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by three brothers, Marvin, James and Gene Koetting; and by a nephew Henry Koetting.

Leonard is survived by his sister, Caroline Longest of Amarillo; his two brothers, Herman Koetting and his wife Terri of Panhandle and John Koetting of Groom, Texas; and many numerous loving nieces and nephews.
