Lester "Les" Ray Hudson

Lester Ray “Les” Hudson was born on October 14, 1948 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Ray and Edna Ramage Hudson. His life’s journey came to an end on May 23, 2018 in Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Valleyview Church Of The Nazarene, 7601 S. Western St. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Les was raised in Phillips, Texas and graduated from Phillips High School in 1967. He went on to earn his degree from West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas.

Les was a kind, gentle spirit who had the ability to calm those around him. He revered and upheld his family’s American Indian Heritage. He was every stray dog’s best friend. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Les was preceded in death by his grandparents, Minnie & Lester Hudson and Meadie & Willis Ramage; and his father, Ray T. Hudson.

He is survived by his wife, Roxanne Welch Hudson; daughters, Lorrie Steffanuski and Dan Lock of Commerce, Michigan, Jenifer Robinson and husband Lyn of Kit Carson, Colorado and Melissa McKinley and husband Thomas of Clarksville, Tennessee; his mother, Edna Hudson of Amarillo, Texas; sister, Sharon and husband Dan Ray of White Deer, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
