Lillian “Ann” Albracht, 89, of Amarillo, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family on March 31, 2025.
Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 11:00 am, at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 1200 N. Washington, with Reverend Anthony Neusch presiding. Rosary will be said prior to Mass at 10:30 am.
Ann was born April 19, 1935, in Nada, Texas to Hubert and Walburga (Schneider) Swoboda. She was the fourth of nine children and the last surviving sibling of her three sisters and five brothers. Ann married John J. Albracht on July 14, 1956, and together they built their family over the span of 46 years together until John’s passing on October 15, 2002. Ann was an incredibly dedicated mother to their six children and an all-around caring housewife.
Ann was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for over 50 years and loved to pray the rosary. She was selflessly dedicated to the Lord and the Church. She enjoyed doing service work at St. Mary’s, such as the Women’s Circle, floral decorations for the Adoration Chapel, and assisting with the funeral meals. With all of these activities, St. Mary’s awarded her Volunteer of the Year with an award plaque. She also very much enjoyed helping with the Downtown Women’s Center and their annual award banquet.
Ann is survived by her six children, Kathy Raef and Kevin of Amarillo, Cheryl Hohertz and Jeff of Canadian, Texas, Lyn Albracht of Lubbock, Texas, Jack Albracht of Pampa, Texas, Nick Albracht of Burleson, Texas, and Tim Albracht and Janice of Amarillo, Texas. Ann was also blessed with a loving family that had 23 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family and cherished friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Cathedral or the Downtown Women’s Center in honor of Ann Albracht.
