Linda Mack Archer was born on Valentine’s Day in 1947 in Guymon, OK, and died at her home in Amarillo March 2, 2020.
She graduated from West Texas State University and trained as a paralegal, then worked for several firms in Amarillo before becoming a land person for Sprint. In that role she travelled extensively securing tower sites. She especially loved it when she could help a farmer save his farm through the income a tower provided. She also trained others in that and title search work.
Linda was a gifted song writer, who performed mostly for friends, mostly songs about family and the hard scrabble life of farmers in the Oklahoma panhandle. A severe stroke in 2005 ended all that, but her optimism remained until the end.
