Linda Kay Shuping, age 76, of Amarillo, entered the gates of Heaven on May 25, 2023.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday evening, May 30, 2023, from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Southlawn Assembly of God.
Linda was born October 22, 1946, in Tyler, Texas, to her parents, Riley and Vera Massey Pittman. She graduated from Caprock High School in 1965. In 1966 she married Johnnie Franklin Shuping Jr. The couple moved to Berlin and lived in Germany from 1967 until 1971. Upon to returning to the States, the family moved from San Angelo and made their home in Amarillo.
In 1980 Linda and her mother opened the Paramount Gift Shop. The ladies served Amarillo until the store’s closing in 2000. Linda spent over thirty-five years volunteering in the Outreach Ministry with Southlawn Assembly of God. Throughout her life, Linda served others. She was devoted to her church and her family. She cherished time spent traveling, singing, and playing board games, especially with her grandchildren. She adored her family and was happiest when she was with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnnie, in 2020; and by a grandson, Reed Tabor.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Kendra Tabor, and her husband, Brian of Celina, Texas; her son, Shane Shuping of Amarillo; and two grandsons, Riley and Ryan Tabor.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Southlawn Assembly of God.
