Linda Towne, 65, of Amarillo died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Bill Carpenter of Victory Harvest Church officiating.
Linda was born Dec. 8, 1943, in Haskell to Chester and Catherine Gregg. She graduated from high school in Sundown.
She met Edd Towne and they married on Oct. 5, 1984, in Wichita Falls. He preceded her in death in November 2005.
Linda worked for Sheraton Hotels for more than 10 years in Wichita Falls as a front office manager and was also a property and regional manager for several apartment complexes in Texas and Oklahoma.
She lived in Wichita Falls for more than 30 years before retiring and moving to Amarillo in 2006 to be closer to her family.
She coached softball for the YMCA, as well as cheerleading for the Boys and Girls Club. She loved having her Starbucks coffee and she enjoyed fishing.
Linda adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edd; her parents; and a brother, Mason Gregg.
Survivors include a daughter, Dee Morgan and husband James of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Candy and husband Steve of Georgia; two sons, Jim Rogers and wife Lisa of Fort Worth and Lynn Rogers of Superior, Ariz.; a stepson, Cary Towne and wife Emeline of Michigan; a sister, Sharon McCann of Las Vegas; two brothers, Danny Gregg of Georgia and Ronnie Gregg of Arizona; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many loving family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to American Cancer Society, 3915 S. Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109; or Olivia's Angels, in care of BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.
