Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 27th, at West Amarillo Christian Church. Rev. Ray Guy will officiate. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.Lorraine was born on November 26, 1926 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Ethel May Simpson and Arthur W. Jeffers. Lorraine lived in Philadelphia until 1959, when she moved to Amarillo, Texas.Lorraine started her career working with Pioneer Natural Gas Company. There she met the love of her life, Oliver G. (O.G.) Wright, Jr. She continued her career at Wagner Family Oil and Gas Estates, where she retired from, in the late 1980s. Golf was a love she enjoyed sharing with her husband, at Tascosa Country Club. Lorraine was a member of the Desk and Derrick Club, the Tascosa Country Club, The Amarillo Club, the Over the Hill Gang Dinner Club and West Amarillo Christian Church. At West Amarillo Christian Church, Lorraine was an official greeter and the church “Hugger”. No one passed by Lorraine without getting one of her famous hugs. In Spring of 2005 Lorraine and O.G. were named Servants of the Quarter, for the example they set loving their Lord and Savior and their church family. Lorraine was a loving mother, wife and friend. Her finger prints will never fade from the lives she has touched. We will miss her light. She is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver G. Wright, Jr.; her mother, Ethel Clawson; her father, Arthur Jeffers; her brother, Kencil Clawson, her sister, Marianne Parsons and many beloved cats, Morris I, Morris II and Morris III.Survivors include her sister, Joyce Jeffers; sons, Norman Cook and wife, Phyllis, Brian Black, and Gary Wright and wife, Nickie; daughter, DeAnne White and husband, Larry; grandchildren, Kelli Beck and husband, Barry, Ross White and wife, Molly, Eric Cook and wife, Bailey, Todd Cook, Lisa McMaster and husband, Mark, Jim Cook and wife, Missy, Amy Broyles and husband, Derick, Jeffrey Black and wife, Courtney, Jane Lawing and husband, Mike, Wayne Mott, Chris Willmann and Kisha Wallace and husband, Aaron; thirty seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; niece Gail Underwood and husband, Mark; and her special feline friend, Smokey.
