Lottie Akard Powell, 96, passed on September 27, 2013
A celebration of Lottie’s life will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 27, 2013 in Second Baptist Church, 419 N. Buchanan, with Dr. Charles Jones officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Lottie was born in McAlester, Oklahoma, one of 12 children. She was a long-time member of Second Baptist Church which was the focus of her life, second only to her family. She was a homemaker and a public school and High Plains Baptist Hospital cafeteria worker.
Lottie had a special connection to her grandsons – all of whom were “perfect” according to her.
A special thank you to everyone at Ware Living Center for the loving care given to our mother.
She is survived by her son, Don and daughter, Joyce Ann and their spouses; four grandsons and wives; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister.
