Louis A. Zambrano

“Lou” Louis Anthony Zambrano, 73, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013, at Baptist-St. Anthony Hospital from complications of a recent illness.

VISITATION at 6:00 P.M. and ROSARY SERVICE at 7:00 P.M. – Monday, March 18, 2013 @ Schooler Funeral Home.

FUNERAL MASS:  10:00 A.M. – Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Scott Raef as celebrant.  Arrangements for final interment in East Moline, Illinois are pending.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia, Amarillo, Texas.

He was born on October 9, 1939, in Sterling IL, son of Albert and Tillie Zambrano. He has been married to Gail Girt since 1961. Lou and Gail moved their family from the Quad Cities in Illinois to Amarillo in 1980.  Lou was retired from the Rock Island Railroad and more recently from Pantex.
Lou was very dedicated to his family, which brought him his greatest joy in life.

In addition to his wife Gail, he is survived by their daughter Rainy and her son, Briley, of Phoenix; by their son Aaron and his wife, Peggy, of Amarillo, and their daughters, Jeseka Russell of Franklinton LA, and Kasey Killough of Amarillo, and their son Cory Cooksey and his wife Courtney; and by his sister Jessica  Zambrano, and her daughter Suzanne DeMarzo, of Syracuse, NY. Lou was pre-deceased by his daughter, ‘Lizzie’ Elizabeth Ann in March, 1979.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association - 6605 W Interstate 40, Suite A6, Amarillo, TX 79106.
