Heaven gained another angel on June 6, 2022, with Louise Ann Quackenbush Wisian’s arrival.
The family will host a reception on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 4:30 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel.
Louise was born into this world on November 12, 1951 in Santa Anna, California to her parents Bill and Charlotte Quackenbush. She graduated from Tascosa High School and from Trinity University in San Antonio with a master’s degree. Once she returned to Amarillo she attended Amarillo College and earned a degree in nursing.
On June 23 1979 she married the love of her life, Ralph Wisian and the adventures began. Although she held several degrees, once their daughter Catherine arrived on scene, she devoted herself to caring for her. Louise faced many challenges although you would not know it as she always displayed kindness, grace and a little bit of humor. She greeted each day with a zeal and joy.
Recently, cruising had become the preferred method of travel. Ralph and Louise were fortunate to be able to travel extensively in recent years, visiting Alaska, Mexico, The Panama Canal and Bermuda just to name a few destinations. No matter what her condition, when asked are you ready for the next adventure, her answer was an astounding, ‘YES!” Louise may have been tiny in stature, but she was big on love. One of her favorite things to do was accompany Ralph to New Mexico while he participated in the Enchanted Circle Ride, she would walk up and down the town of Red River awaiting his return. Louise was always there for him, his constant companion, greeting him with her smile that could light up the world.
She was an active and vibrant lady until Covid changed the world, no longer could she go on two mile walks around the mall or on adventures. Louise was a warrior and fighter with a heart of gold. She loved her friends and family fiercely.
Louise was preceded by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of over forty-two years, Ralph; her daughter Catherine Wisian; her brother, Jack Quackenbush and his wife Tammy; and by her furry companions, Lady Godiva the dog and kitties, Lady Marmalade and Princess Nala.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made in Louise's memory to a charity of your choice.
