Lynn Cox, 75, of Amarillo died Sunday, December 30, 2012.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Polk Street United Methodist Sanctuary with the Rev. Kevin Deckard, Associate Pastor officiating. Private family burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Lynn was born December 19, 1937 in Bowie, Texas to George W. and Bessie Corpening Cox. He graduated from Bowie High school and SMU then later earned his Master’s Degree from Texas Tech University. Lynn proudly served in the U. S, Army. He moved to Amarillo in in 1961 where he went to work for Pantex and retired in 2003. He married Nancy Jean Thomas on December 26, 1966 in Amarillo. He loved traveling with his family, and enjoyed playing golf and bridge with his friends.
Survivors include his wife Nancy; two daughters, Angela Jones and husband, Michael, of McKinney; Kim DeBons and husband, John, of San Augustine, TX; a neice Sandy Walker of Bowie; a nephew Ricky Cox, of Cleburne; and three grandchildren, Abbey, Emma, and Josh.
