MAGGIE CLEO HANSON COX, age 89, went to be with her Lord Sunday, August 26, 2012.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, August 29, from 6:00-7:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home.
Funeral services are Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Paramount Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Fox officiating. Burial is at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia Street, Amarillo, Texas.
She was born August 12, 1923 in Cleburn, Texas to Reverend Samuel and Maggie Hanson. After moving to Dalhart during high school, she met and married the love of her life, Leon Cox, in November, 1941. She worked as an administrator of Elizabeth Jane Bivins Nursing Home for twenty years. Cleo was a charter member of Paramount Baptist Church for over 54 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Bobby Cox, and a sister, Reta Wilson.
Cleo is survived by her daughter, Carlene Burk and husband Norman of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Shonda Gabel and husband Robert and their children, Breanna and Landon; grandson, Lance Burk and wife Lindsay and their children, Meagan, Ayslinn, Anna and Ledger; other grandchildren, Robin Fox, her children, Aubrey, Jackson, Ava, and Olivia, Courtney and Steve Parkman and their son, Conner; and a niece, Becky Salazar and husband Ron and their son, R.J.
