Maikil Maywin Maduok passed away February 19, 2015 in Odessa TX.
Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015. Rosary will be 6:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Schooler Funeral Brentwood Chapel. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Maikil was born January 1, 1964 to Maywin Maduok and Akoyu Lual in Awiel, South Sudan. He married Angelina Garang. They came to the USA in 2000 and lived in Atlanta, GA before moving to Amarillo at the beginning of 2001. He started working at Tyson Fresh Meats and Affiliated Food Market in 2003. Maikil became the first Sudanese Community President in Amarillo and remained as President until 2009. He did great things for the Sudanese Community around Amarillo and the Panhandle. In 2011, they moved to Odessa where he worked as a truck driver for Pilot and Thomas Oil Company after receiving his CDL at Amarillo College.
He will be missed by his family and friends and the entire Sudanese Community.
Maikil is preceded in death by his father and his brother Garang.
He is survived by his wife; his five children; his mother; five brothers; and one sister.
