Mamie Ida Reynolds, age 100, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012, in Lubbock.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, in Brentwood Chapel at Schooler Funeral Home with Neal Brumley and Ben Powell officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Mamie Ida Brown Reynolds was born January 20, 1912 in Titus County, Texas as number
12 of 13 children. She graduated from Hedley Texas High School. She met Keightly Spencer Reynolds in Hedley, Texas in 1931. They were soon married, and it was the beginning of a 44 year marriage.
Keat and Mamie spent most of their married life in Amarillo, Texas where they were active
members of Central Church of Christ for years and had a host of friends. At one time, they owned Palo Duro Lanes in Amarillo. They owned Pleasant Valley Lumber & Supply Company and K. S. Reynolds Construction Company for many years until the death of Keat in 1975.
Mamie has five children, Carolyn Cawthron of Lubbock, Texas, Don Reynolds of Amarillo,
Texas, Lynn Reynolds of Agoura Hills, California, David Reynolds of Fort Worth, Texas, and
Gail Powell of Franklin, Tennessee. She is also blessed with three daughters-in-law, Mona
Reynolds, Jeanne Reynolds, and Karen Reynolds and two sons-in-law, Jim Cawthron, and Ben
Powell. She has 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and don't forget, five great-great
grandchildren!
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, August 24, at the funeral home.
