Margaret Keys, age 81, of Amarillo died April 16, 2015 in Amarillo.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pastor Mike Martin of South Georgia Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Margaret was born November 13, 1933 in Ashdown, Arkansas to William and Zona Kersten. She married Paul Keys on October 15, 1948 in Memphis, Texas.
Margaret worked as a beautician while her husband recovered from a serious back injury to help support the family. Family was always first and Margaret was always happiest when surrounded by her family and friends.
She had a love for sewing and enjoyed working for Cloth World in sales and as manager for over twenty years, before opening her monogram shop in Wolflin Square, “Personalized Plus” which she operated for several years before retiring.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters; four brothers; by a great grandson, Seton; and by her husband Paul on March 24, 2015.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 PM until 7 pm.
She is survived by her daughter, Pauline Clise of Oklahoma City, OK; three sons, Robert Keys and his wife Carol, Tim Keys and his wife Virginia all of Amarillo, and Troy Hunter of New Mexico; her sisters, Ruth McGaha of Amarillo and Frances Mooney of Carthridge, TX; and by a brother, Travis Kersten of Yanis, TX; six grandchildren, Cortney Wesolowski, Tiffani Robertson, Shawna Oliver, Carey Keys-Anchia, Lance Keys and Lisa Branham; and by 15 great grandchildren.
