Margie Ann Galyon

Margie Ann Galyon age 89 of Amarillo died September 23rd in Amarillo.
Funeral Services will be on Saturday, September 26th at 10:00 AM at Comanche Trail Church of Christ.  Loran Harper, minister will officiate.  Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Borger, Texas.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Mrs. Galyon was born May 27, 1926 in Lamesa, Dawson County, Texas to Lattie and Ella Mae Tipton.  She was a housewife and became a licensed vocational nurse in 1967 practicing in the office of Dr. Rex Prewitt in Borger.
She married Dwight Ford Galyon on September 26, 1945 and resided in Borger, Texas until 1993.  Following their retirement, they enjoyed their cabin in Loma Linda, New Mexico.  Painting, nursing and cooking were her favorite earthly passions.
Mrs. Galyon served the community by volunteering at the Veteran’s Administration and at the Harrington Cancer Center in Amarillo.
The couple moved to Amarillo in 1993.  Along with her husband, she was a member of Comanche Trail Church of Christ in Amarillo.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home tonight from 5PM until 6 PM.
Mrs. Galyon was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a sister Katherine Vovine DeBarr; two brothers, Buren and Kenneth Tipton; and by one granddaughter, Kristen Alexis Garcia.
She is survived by her daughter, Diana Fern Cary and her husband Joby of Amarillo; two sons, Dwight Keith Galyon and his wife Bobbie of Salem, West Virginia and Phillip Linn Galyon and his wife Debbie of Tualatin, Oregon; a sister Mary Alice Lynch of Broken Arrow, OK; six grandchildren, Amy D. Garcia, Kimberly A. Elkowitz, Jerrod H. Galyon, Crystal D. Chotkowski, Jennifer K. Galyon and W. Sage Galyon; ten great grandchildren; six nephews and eight nieces.
The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Unit at The Craig Retirement Center, 5500 West 9th Amarillo, Texas 79106 or the Children’s Emergency Home, Lawndale Cottage,  c/o Comanche Trail Church of Christ, 2700 SE 34th Amarillo, TX 79103
