Rosary Service will be at 6:30 pm, Thursday November 3, at Schooler Funeral Home, Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 pm Friday, November 4, at Our Lady of Guadalupe with Father Gomez officiating. Burial is at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Maria was born on January 16, 1928 in Colorado City, Texas to Pedro and Adela Sotelo. She married the love of her life, Margarito Diaz and they were married until his death in 1992. She loved her family and for her, a full house was a happy one. Her grandchildren were precious to her and she made sure they knew how important her faith was to her. Those were the two keys for Maria, Faith and Family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Margarito Diaz; sisters, Josephine Benavidas, Agustina Marmolejo, Guadalupe Benavidas, Erlinda Sotelo; and a brother, Mateo Sotelo.
Maria is survived by three daughters, Delia & husband Don White, Margie & husband Jim Bryant and Esmeralda Mills; sons, Paul & Elida Diaz, Roy Diaz, Jessie Diaz and Michael & wife Dolores Diaz, all of Amarillo; 29 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
