Maria Ernestina "Tina" Vargas

Maria Ernestina “Tina” Burciaga De Vargas, age 65 lost her battle with ovarian cancer and entered the gates of Heaven where she was greeted by her father and son on March 18, 2014 in Amarillo.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday at Schooler funeral Home Brentwood Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be on Friday at 4:00 PM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Haider Quintero. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Tina was born in Santa Maria, Durango, Mexico on Nov. 7, 1948. She married Francisco on January 15, 1973 in Mexico. The family moved to Amarillo from L.A. in 1981. Throughout the years they owned and operated several businesses including a meat market and a feed yard. Tina devoted herself to her family and cherished time with her precious grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and by a son Abel in 2004.
She is survived by her husband Francisco, two daughters, Sonia and Linda Vargas both of Amarillo; three sisters and six brothers; and her four grandchildren, Nial, Mya, Ahron and Luca.
