A prayer service will be said on Wednesday September 1st, at 6:00 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.   Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday September 2nd, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Monsignor Tash as celebrant. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia. Marian was born August 28, 1954, in Ft. Meade, Maryland, the first of 7 children, to Robert and Agnes Betzen.  Marian married Joe McKnight on October 30, 1981.Marian was a teacher with unmatched passion for children, an avid reader who loved a good mystery, and last, but certainly most important, a loving, caring, patient wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.She was an active, long-time member of the congregation and altar society of St Joseph Catholic Church, as well as a school board and booster club member at Holy Cross Catholic Academy. She was preceded in death by her father.  Survivors include her mother, her husband, two sons, Mark McKnight and Patrick McKnight of Amarillo, one daughter, Megan McKnight of Dallas, a granddaughter, Ceilee Malacara; four brothers, Jim Betzen and wife, Wilona of Columbus, Montana, Ray Betzen and wife, Ann, of Hobbs, New Mexico, Francis Betzen and wife, Deannette, of Amarillo, and Jerry Betzen and wife, Gwen, of Hereford, Texas; two sisters, Linda Briones and husband, Raul, of Celina, Texas, and Robin Gonzales and husband, Roy of Dimmitt, Texas; as well as several godchildren, nieces, and nephews.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center.
