Corrie Marie Glovier went to meet her Lord and Savior on September 24, 2013.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 6:00 PM, Thursday, September 26, 2013 in Comanche Trail Church of Christ with Mr. Jerry Klein and Davlyn Duesterhaus officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Marie was born to Harold T and Susie Fowler Brady on December 31, 1922, in Amarillo, Texas. She married Joe Earl Glovier on June 11, 1944. Marie and Joe worked on the family farm until his death in 1988.
Marie received her Bachelor’s degree at the age of 76 from WTAMU. She worked in the language lab at Amarillo College for ten years. She worked many hours at the Iglesias de Cristo and enjoyed several mission trips. Marie holds the largest number of volunteer hours at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospice and loved serving in that capacity. Mrs. Glovier was an active member at the Comanche Trail Church of Christ. Her favorite hobbies were reading and growing hybrid irises as well as sewing and crafting.
Marie is survived by daughters, Kathy Martin and husband Otis of Amarillo, Rachel White and husband Gary of Amarillo, Jonita Terrell and husband Daniel of Hesperia, CA., Victoria (Edna) Anderson and husband Bruce of Allen, Lee Ann Poldson and husband Phil of Amarillo; a son, Cecil Glovier and wife Deborah of Amarillo; a brother, Bobby Brady and wife Ginger of Amarillo; her grandchildren, Tiffany Nall, Ray Young, Rick Young, Amanda Ludlow, Caleb Glovier, Benjamin Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson, Stephanie Pafford, Jerad Lynch, and 14 great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to all of Marie’s caretakers at Ware Memorial Care Center.
Family suggests memorials be made to BSA Hospice c/o Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center or High Plains Children’s Home.
