Marjorie Wegner

August 21, 1925 — November 1, 2014

Marjorie Rosheim Carnes Wegner, 89, of Amarillo, passed away November 1, 2014 in Amarillo.

Services will be held at a later date in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S Georgia, Amarillo, TX.

Marjorie was born on August 21, 1925 in Scarville, Iowa to Issac and Mamie Rosheim. She married Royal Carnes in 1949.  They moved to Albuquerque where they had five children. Following Roy’s death, Marjorie and her children moved to Tucumcari.  She married Norman Wegner and together they ran the Cactus Motor Lodge on Old Route 66.  She moved to Amarillo in 2002.  Marjorie grew up on a farm and enjoyed telling stories about the old days.  She also enjoyed sewing and loved the Dallas Cowboys.   Traveling and eating out with family and friends were also great pleasures to Marjorie.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Roy Carnes and Norman Wegner and her youngest son, Royden Carnes.

Survivors include her brother Irwin Rosheim and his wife Jean, of St. Paul, MN; her children Rodney Carnes of Amarillo, Ricky Carnes and wife Darlene of Andrews, Patricia Mize and husband Randy of Plano and Randy Carnes of Tucumcari; grandchildren David Carnes and wife Kandy, Jarrod Carnes, Lauren Carnes, Troy Carnes and wife Renee, Travis Carnes and wife Andrea, Trenton Carnes and wife Rochelle, Randall Mize, and Courtney Holder and husband Drew, Brandon Carnes, Kristie Fielder and husband Pat, and 17 great grandchildren.  Marjorie will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
