Mark Anthony Bohannon, 40, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013 after a brave battle with brain cancer. A Memorial Service celebrating Mark’s unique life will be held at
10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Hillside Christian Church at 6901 S. Bell with Braden Clark, Local Missions Pastor and Northeast Campus Pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia. Honorary pallbearers are Erick Bohannon, Matt Bohannon, DJ Casarez, Jesica Jacobs-Bohannon, Ian Watson, Angela Bullard, Nicole Deschamp and Brad Clark.
Mark the fourth child of Bruce F. and Mary Sieverman Bohannon, was born in Amarillo, on March 8, 1973. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1991 and attended Amarillo College on a German Scholarship. He worked at Ralphs’ Records and was also a Barista for a local coffee shop. In 1999, Mark relocated to California where he managed a Diedrich’s Coffee Shop before being hired as a loan underwriter for World Savings. In 2010, Mark moved back to Amarillo and was a loan closer for Happy State Bank.
Mark was preceded in death by his father Bruce on April 23, 1993.
He is survived by his mother Mary of Amarillo; his sister Libby and brother–in-law DJ Casarez of Albuquerque NM, his brother Erick and sister-in-law Shelly Bohannon of Amarillo, and their children, nephew Dustin Bohannon of Amarillo and niece Aryn Bohannon of KY; his brother Matt Bohannon, niece Isabella, and Isabella’s mother Jesica Jacobs-Bohannon, all of Amarillo; an aunt and uncle, Claire Sieverman and Leo Bourke of CA; an uncle and aunt Andy Sieverman and Gail Weatherby of Austin; an uncle and aunt Casey and Julie Sieverman of Austin; his favorite cousin Mark F. Bohannon of Washington DC; and special friends Hsin Hsin and Emily Cheng of CA, Tom Askew and Neil Hawkins both of Amarillo.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of BSA Hospice and the Harrington Cancer Center for their dedication and loving compassionate care for all patients. The family also thanks their countless friends who provided comfort, food and transportation during their time of need, especially Angela, Jesica, Nicole, Brad and Tammy.
