Mary Jo Bauman

Memorial Service will be at 11:00AM, Tuesday, July 5, 2013 at the Church of Christ the Colonies with Mr. Dick Marcear officiating. Private family interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mary Jo was born in Booneville, MS to Paul and Verda Wright McCullar. She moved to Dallas as a teenager where she worked in the insurance industry for many years.   She married Robert Bauman and they moved to Amarillo in 1966.  Mary Jo was extremely involved with benevolence work through the years in the Amarillo Community.
As an active and involved member of the Church of Christ the Colonies, she organized food drives, funeral meals and other activities.


She is preceded in death by her husband in December of 1989.

Mary Jo is survived by two daughters, Patti Widener and husband Glenn of Portland, OR.
and Mary Ann Smiley and husband Rich of The Woodlands; one son, Chris Bauman and wife Tracy of Klein, TX.; and six grandchildren, Katie Collins, Ben Smiley, Dan Smiley, Chad Bauman, Bonni Bauman and Molli Bauman.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the building fund at the Church of Christ the Colonies.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6-7 PM.
