Mary Jim Clark, 75, of Amarillo passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015. Her service will be on Tuesday, August 4, at 1 p.m. at Southwest Church of Christ in Amarillo. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo, Texas 79110.
Mary Jim was born in San Angelo and graduated from Mertzon High School in 1958 and from Abilene Christian University in 1962. She went on to complete graduate work at the University of North Texas and worked as an elementary school teacher. She married Walter Dale Clark in 1970 and together they lived in Amarillo and attended Southwest Church of Christ. Mary Jim later continued her education and became a counselor. She treated her counseling practice as a ministry and lovingly helped so many.
Mary Jim is preceded in death by her husband, Dale.
Survivors include a son, Brad Clark and his wife Anna, of Amarillo; a daughter, Amy Jim Yarbrough of Amarillo; a brother, Elton Davis of Whitney; and five grandchildren, Ethan Yarbrough, Colt Yarbrough, Gabrielle Lynch, Daley Clark and Barrett Clark.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Ware Living Center for their kindness, care and love.
The family suggests memorials be to High Plains Children's Home; or Abilene Christian University.
