Mary P. Fowler, age 102, of Amarillo, died Friday, September 28, 2012.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 3, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Llano Cemetery with Rev. Corky Holland officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
She was born in Moody Texas February 8, 1910 to Leonidas and Eula Porterfield. She graduated from Moody High School in 1928 and moved to Wichita Falls in 1929. She worked for the Continental Oil Co. for approximately 3 years and later moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1934. She worked for Phillips Petroleum Company until 1964.
Mary married E.T. Baker in April, 1943 and they were married until his death in January, 1963. She married Horace B. Fowler in 1964 and they were married until his death in March, 2002.
Mary was a member of First Baptist Church of Amarillo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Fowler; her brothers, Frank and Clyde Porterfield; sisters, Ruth Sellars, Audrey Teague, Catherine Chapin, and Juliette Davidson; and her beloved niece Glynanna Ham of Amarillo. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
