Mary Katherine McKinney O’Connor, 75, of Amarillo passed away on May 8, 2014.
Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 13, at Schooler Funeral Home – Brentwood Chapel with Elder Don R. Watson officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. at Erick Cemetery in Erick, Oklahoma.
Mary was born March 24, 1939 in Borger to Katherine McKinney and Melvin Parker. Mary attended school in Borger. She married Daniel B. “Dan” O’Connor on January 1, 1980.
Mary had several jobs in her lifetime. She worked as a CNA at St. Anthony’s Hospital, then going to work at TDJC (Clements Unit) on April 1, 1990 and retired on January 31, 2008. She was retired for only six weeks before returning to work for TDJC (Clements Unit) where she worked until April 13, 2010.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Dan, her parents and her grandparents.
Survivors include two sons Wade Ray “Pete” Woods and wife Candy of Amarillo, and Claude Lee O’Connor and wife Elaine of Hockley, Texas. Two daughters, Shirley May Walker and husband Lee of Dunncanville, Texas; Katherine Reann File and husband David of Gruver, TX. Five grandchildren, Seven great-grandchildren, a special cousin Virginia Rogers of Amarillo, and many more cousins. Her beloved little dog, Mr. Mr. Special friends, Don and Jan Watson, Kathy Oldham, Donna Vejcik, Linda Tucker, and Caroline Hess. Special neighbors Nina, Barbara, Jean, Jan and Jim. Numerous other friends.
