Maxine Roper Ferguson AGE: 74Memorial Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 21, 2011 in Brentwood Chapel,Schooler Funeral Home, with Pastor Dr. G.A. Roach from Bushland Community Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia St. Maxine was born December 28, 1936 in Guymon, Oklahoma to Thomas and Edith Roper.She grew up on the family farm just outside of Gruver, Texas. She was married to L.D. Ferguson on October 15, 1955 and the couple moved with the oil field drilling work, living in Spearman, Canadian, Wyoming, Gruver, and Pampa before moving to Amarillo in 1967. She loved flowers, animals, and playing 42 and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, a great mother, and granny, as well as a dear friend to many.She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Edith Roper and her only brother, Don Roper.Maxine is survived by her husband of 55 years L. D. Ferguson; her two sons, Jerry and Tommy Ferguson; 9 grandchildren, Maxine Dee Stratton, Joshua Ferguson, Collin Ferguson, Arthur Ferguson, Victor Ferguson, Victoria Ferguson, Ivan Ferguson, Isabel Ferguson, and Jacob Ferguson; 4 great-grandchildren, Malaki Stratton, Cheradyn Stratton, Devyn Stratton, and Zyler Ferguson.
