M.D. "Jiggs" Turner

M.D. “Jiggs” Turner, 98, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018.

Family will receive friends, Friday, April 27, 2018 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 28, 2018 in Arden Road Baptist Church with Brother Dale Bigham and Brother Aaron Denson officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo.

M.D.  was born November 14, 1919 to Earnest and Ettie Clark Turner in Burneyville, OK. He proudly served in the United States Army from August 3, 1944 until February 9, 1946. M.D.  earned the Purple Heart Award on April 29, 1945. He lived in Borger and worked for Phillips 66 until his retirement in 1982 then later he and Doreen moved to Amarillo in 1989. M.D. served as an active member of Arden Road Baptist Church and proudly served as an usher.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Doreen, a son-in-law, Jesse Perkins, and two sisters.

M.D. is survived by two daughters, Kay Boyles and husband Frank of Abilene, TX and LaJauna Perkins of Amarillo, TX, his grandchildren who called him Pawpa, DeVona Davis and husband Ricky of Albany, TX, Donita Sprang of Boerne, TX, and Dean Boyles and wife Kelli of Hutto, TX, great grandchildren, Lydia Goodloe and husband Chris of Pikeville, NC, Larissa Baker and husband Tim of Galveston, TX, Caleb Sprang and wife Victoria of San Antonio, TX, and Corey Don Sprang of Boerne, TX, Maleri Boyles, Alex Boyles and Natali Boyles all of Hutto, TX; and one great-great granddaughter, Amelia Paige Goodloe of Pikeville, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
