Melody Elane Williams Daly, age 54, died Sunday, February 23, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 27, at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel with Rev. Mark Cattau officiating. Private family interment. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Melody was born August 10, 1959 in Portales, New Mexico to Pete (Johnnie) and Mickey (Mary) Williams. She moved with her family to Amarillo, Texas in 1962 where she spent the remainder of her life.
She is survived by her mother; a brother John Williams and wife Jennifer; a sister Cindy Fulfer and husband Edwin; two sons: Patrick Daly and Keno Gallegos. She was a wonderful aunt to her six nieces and nephews: Jarred and Whitnye Williams, Kelsey Williams, Colin, Nathan, and Whitney Fulfer; and a loving grandmother to her five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents Bennie and Sam Lane.
She dedicated not only her career, but her life to the care and love of others. From age 15 she began what would become her 36 year-long nursing career, as a Candy Striper. She was a graduate of the 1977 Amarillo High School class, and she received her degree as an LVN from Amarillo College. She began working as an LVN at Northwest Texas Hospital, Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital, Potter County Detention Center, Tyson, and finished her career in the Alzheimer’s Unit at Ware Memorial Care Center. Melody always placed her family and friends first. Her greatest joy in life was bringing joy to those around her.
There will be an open visitation with the family present on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Schooler Funeral Home.
