Melvin Allen Cruse

Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March, 21, 2011 at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel with Dan Shaeffer officiating.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.Melvin was born in Russell Springs, KS on Nov 7, 1937.  He married Kay Post on Oct 14, 1977.  Mel was self-employed for many years.  He retired from Gilvin & Terrell after 16 years to become a full time cattleman.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and best friend to many and will be dearly missed.He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Delnora Cruse and brother, Boyd Cruse.Survivors include his wife, Kay Cruse, three sons, Mike Cruse and wife Lana of Sanger, TX, Bob Cruse and wife Ann of Durango, CO, and Cody Post and wife Pamela of Bryan, TX; three sisters, Pauline Filener of Delores, CO, Norma Veatch and husband Neil of Grand Junction, CO; and Nola Cotton and husband Danny of Hotchkiss, CO; one brother, David Cruse and wife, Katherine of Grand Junction, CO; and 6 grandchildren.Memorials may be made to Olivia Angels or BSA Hospice.
