Michael Patrick Poushyk

Michael Patrick Poushyk, 49, of Amarillo passed away on November 9, 2022.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 10am in the Schooler Funeral Home's Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia.

Michael was born on May 7, 1973 in Thunder Bay Ontario, Canada to Lorraine Jeanette Vandale and Patrick Boyer. He was a graduate of Dakota Collegiate Winnipeg High School and would later find his way to Amarillo, Texas where he attended college at West Texas A & M University of Canyon. On November 18, 2000 Michael married his beloved Nancy in Amarillo and together they built a strong, faith based family together.

Michael was a devoted employee of Owens Corning for nearly two decades before taking a leap of faith and joining the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad as a Trackman in August of 2022. Michael loved Jesus and built his life and family around the word of God. The only thing that came close was the love he had for his family. He was all about them. He could literally find any reason or excuse to get them all together in the same room. Michael would plan vacations, family dinners and events, game nights, and any other thing he could think of just to have them all together. He was an avid gun collector and bought many different varieties of firearms throughout his life. Michael was also an incredibly selfless man. In all his actions, he gave with his whole heart.

Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents Jean Knot and Lou Vandale, and brother in law Ralph JC Scheibler. Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, his loving bride of more than 20 years, Nancy, daughter Anikah Michael Poushyk, sons Anthony Albert Hadaway and Troy Allen Davis, sister Cindy Larraine Scheibler, brother Lee Robert Poushyk; five grandchildren and many other loving family and dear friends.
