Michael Craig Stanley, 54, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012.
Celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, in Brentwood Chapel at Schooler Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Nuthman will officiate. Military Rites will be by Marines B Company Anti-Terrorism Battallion. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Mike was born on December 28, 1957 in Borger to Eldon “Ike” Stanley and the late Lorita Robinson Stanley. Mike attended school in Borger then graduated from High School in Garden City Ks. in 1976. Mike then served in the Marines from 1976 until 1979 when he was honorably discharged as a Lance Corporal. Upon discharge, he lived in Garden City working in the trucking business, then returned to Amarillo where he has lived with his dogs as his faithful companions.
He was preceded in death by his mother and his sister Sherry.
Survivors include his father, Eldon Stanley of Garden City, Ks., sisters Leslie St. John and husband Ric of Talala, Ok., and Lisa Pence of Garden City Ks., nieces and nephews April Phillips, Natalie Brown, A.J. Schreibvogel, Brooke Treadwell, Ricci and Levi St. John, Rachel Acker, Barton, Mattie, and Mason Loving, Taylor Pence and numerous other family members and friends.
The family suggests memorials be made to the VFW.
The family will receive friends Friday 6:00 – 7:00 at the funeral home.
