Mildred Johnson Booker

Mildred Johnson Booker, age 92, of Amarillo passed away November 2, 2015.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 6, 2015 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel with Pastor Brad Reeves officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia St. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery in Great Bend, KS.

Mrs. Booker was born April 23, 1923 in Great Bend, Kansas to Gilbert and Lena Johnson. She started working at the age of 16 keeping books for Mering and Son and continued for 9 years. Mildred graduated from Great Bend High School in 1940. She married Marvin Booker on February 7, 1948.  While in Great Bend, Mildred was part of the Busy Buzzers 4-H Club. After their marriage, in 1951, Mildred began selling for Stanley Home Products, Inc. During her employment, she won numerous awards and accolades, trips and cars for her outstanding sales representation. Mildred has been a member of the American Business Women’s Association for over 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Marvin Booker in 1980, a brother Elton Johnson and wife Glenna Mae, and a sister, Darlene Fox.
Mildred is survived by her sisters, Dorras Evelyn Barnes of Ft. Mohave, AZ, and Treva Beatrice Smith of Larned, KS; and several nieces and nephews.
Family suggests memorials be made to American Business Women’s Association, 422 Mesquite Ave., Amarillo, Texas 79108
Family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
