Soon after graduation, Mildred married her high school sweetheart, William"Edgar" Davis. They moved to Wichita soon after the birth of their only child, Donald Edward Davis. Mildred enjoyed the beauty of Mother Nature, often commenting on the bellowing clouds before a rain shower, the grace of a flying bird, or the fragile drop of a rose petal. She was able to capture this beauty in both her oil paintings and china painting. She was a gifted artist who loved painting china for family and friends. Her talent in china painting was such that she had a bowl accented with gold and luster that was on display in an Oklahoma City museum for a year, after earning an excellence award from the World Organization of China painting. Mildred was a Beta Sigma Phi Golden Girl and a member of St. Stephen Methodist Church.

Mildred is survived by her daughter-in-law Melva Davis and two granddaughters, Paula Davis of Seattle, Washington and Judith Davis, of Amarillo.
