Graveside services will be Wednesday at 10:30 in Llano Cemetery with Mike Horton, one of her grandsons officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo.
Monarae Cummings, 92 went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 9, 2014. Monarae was the daughter of Carl and Mary Schultz of Abilene. Her family and her faith were incredibly important to her and she was a role model in each. At the age of 37, she continued her education and graduated with a Master's degree in 1964. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, serving as President for a few years. She was also a member of Kappa Kappa Iota. She was teacher of the year for Business subjects in 1968. She taught at Amherst and Springlake-Earth High schools for 28 years.
She loved teaching Sunday School and taught at the Baptist church in Earth and the First Baptist church in Amarillo. She was asked to teach on the Minor Prophets at the age of 89 which she loved.
Monarae was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Howard W. Cummings.
She is survived by three children, Bud Cummings of Abilene, Carol Horton of Abilene and Bob Cummings of Amarillo. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
