Montie “Bill” Garrity age 61 of Amarillo died October 15, 2022.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 19th at 1:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel. The Rev. Kyle Clayton will officiate.
“Bill” “Bo-Bo” or “Bubba” whatever name he was being referred to was born in Canyon on April 22, 1961 to his parents William Edward and Betty Tucker Garrity. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1980. During his high school years he worked at Bridges Meat Market. From an early age he possessed an impeccable work ethic, never missing a day of work. Bill had an infatuation with things that went fast and had engines, well unless it was a Ford. He became a certified Chevrolet mechanic and worked for Hudiberg Jones and later Ray Jones Chevrolet for close to 37 years. If had an engine he could fix it! Until his death he worked at the Amarillo Airport.
Bill was a caring person who loved his family fiercely. He would go without to ensure that those he loved had everything they needed. Bill considered his many nieces and nephews, “his” and they were all his favorite! He had a soft spot for puppies and throughout the years had some great canine buddies. Chase, his rescue pup could always be found by his side and will miss him immensely.
He was preceded in death by his father, William.
Bill is survived by his mother, Betty Garrity; his daughter, Katelyn Garrity; his son Hayden Garrity; his three sisters, Rebecca Garrity, Cindy Davis and her husband Larry, and Shannon Bailey; many aunts and uncles; his many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews; and by his special pup Chase.
