Loving Mother, Nana, and Friend
Nancy Helton Reisert Bourland, a longtime Amarillo resident, was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on July 24th. Even though she deeply loved everyone, she looked forward to seeing her Savior and those that had gone on before her.
Born June 3, 1946 to Donald LeeRoy Helton and Myree Mayfield Helton in Fort Sumner, NM, she was the last surviving sibling and was preceded in death by her sisters Juanita McCalla, Billy Brownlee, Lois Norwood, Patty Zamora, and baby girl Helton. Nancy was also twice widowed. In May 1974, she was preceded in death by husband James Ronald Reisert and in April 2006 was preceded in death by loving husband Ronald John “Bull” Bourland.
Nancy leaves behind two daughters who adored her. Shannon Bourland Billey and spouse Charles Billey of Amarillo, Stacey Reisert and spouse Robin Modisette of Amarillo and an adopted daughter Sherri McDonald and spouse William McDonald of Hobart, OK. Nancy(Nana) also leaves behind two grandchildren, Danielle Modisette Martinez and spouse Andy Martinez, Bradley Modisette and 4 adopted grandchildren Corey, Trinity, Devon and Hayden McDonald. Nancy had one cherished great grandson, James Martinez, and is also survived by a special niece and nephew Denia James and Reece Norwood. Nancy had many precious friends whom she loved and who loved her.
She was a talented artist who painted, quilted and created beautiful crosses.
Memorial services will be Monday July 29, 5:00 pm at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Nancy asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the ASPCA.
Momma will be missed for her loving encouragement, kind words, wise advice, and her ability to make you laugh.
