Nancy Jane Brumley

Nancy Brumley, age 74, of Groom died Saturday, August 6, 2011.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Groom, with Rev. David Kelly of Paradise, Texas and Pastor Jonathan Land officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
Visitation will be Monday, August 8, 2011 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Schooler Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brumley was born March 20, 1937 in Hedley, Texas to John and Zell Nash. She graduated from Hedley High School.
She married Johnny C. Brumley on June 18, 1955 in Chattanooga, OK. She worked for the FSA offices in Donley, Randall and Swisher Counties in her earlier years. She was a homemaker until 1978 when she became an Independent Insurance Agent and sold insurance for Brumley Insurance Agency that she and her husband owned and operated for 30 years. Nancy loved sewing, crocheting, knitting, gardening and most of all taking care of her family. She spent relentless hours working on the Groom School Ex-Students Directory. She taught Sunday school and kept the church nursery for over 30 years. She was also assistant church pianist. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny C. Brumley; a son, Rick Brumley and wife Jolinda of Sanford, Texas; a daughter, Kim Brumley-Ritter and husband Troy of Groom; a brother, John Robert Nash and wife Doris of Wellington, Texas; three grandchildren, Jessica Bates Mitchell and husband Jeff of Canyon, Brandi Bates Childress and husband Tyler of Lubbock and Jenna Brumley of Sanford, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Molly and Miles Mitchell of Canyon and Emalyn Childress of Lubbock; and a very special cousin, Lena Mae Morris of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 8, from 6-7:30 at Schooler Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 160, Groom, Texas 79039 or other favorite charitable organizations.
