Nancy Jean Cox

Nancy Jean Cox, 81, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in Mckinney.

Visitation will be from 5:00-6:00 PM, Friday, September 15, 2017 at Schooler Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Polk St. United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Deckard and Ken Cargle as officiants. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.

Nancy was born on November 17, 1935 in Dalhart to Noble and Leona Thomas. She grew up in Channing with her brother, Joe, always known to her as “Bubber”. She Graduated from Channing High School in 1954 and then from West Texas State College in 1958 with a Business Degree. She met the love of her life, Lynn Cox, through some amazing friends and they were married on December 26, 1966. She worked as a secretary and office assistant for Sondra Cargle and Associates Court Reporting from 1985 until February of this year.

She loved her work, her incredible group of friends, her 1966 Thunderbird, and above all, her family. She cherished vacations with family, laughter with friends and most of all, spoiling her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.

Nancy is survived by two daughters, Kim DeBons and husband, John of Prosper and Angela Jones and husband Mike of McKinney; one brother, Joe Thomas and wife, Laurel of Channing; and three grandchildren, Abbey, Emma and Joshua DeBons.
