Nancy J. Wansley, age 77 of Amarillo, died December 20, 2012.
MEMORIAL SERVICE will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Hillside Christian Church South Campus with Pastor Johnathan Mast officiating. Arrangements by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo, TX 79110.
Nancy was born on September 15, 1935 in Wichita Kansas to John and Jane Clarke. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1953 and married Kenneth Wansley on November 29, 1954.
Nancy had an active life and lived life to the fullest. Nancy loved to travel, loved to laugh and was always the life of the party. Her family describes her as having a loving enthusiastic personality. She made everyone feel special and anyone who met her liked her. She was easy to love and she maintained a sweet spirit in good or bad times. She had a very special bond with her *water* friends, her water aerobics classmates. Nancy was such a special person, full of grace, laughter and was gifted with a wonderful sense of humor. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Nancy will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Deborah Joan Clary in January 1981 and her brother, Jim Clarke in October, 2004.
Survivors include her husband of over 58 years, Kenneth; 2 daughters, Denise Bargas and husband Henry and Diane Wansley, all of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Joan Saunders of New Orleans and Cindy O*Neill of Amarillo; 3 brothers, John Clarke of Dallas, Calvin Clarke of Wichita Falls and Mike Clarke of Amarillo; 3 grandchildren, Blake, Kaci and Sarah and 2 great grandchildren, Ashton and Carter.
