On June13, 2013, Neva Nell Palmer Kite entered into her long-awaited home, and she is now singing with the angels.
Neva was born August 29, 1922 to Gertrude and Brady Palmer in Sulphur Springs, Texas. In school, she excelled at academics and music. While attending college, she met the love of her life, Haun Kite, where they both majored in music. They married in Altus, OK July 31, 1941, and were married almost 72 years.
An artistic and intelligent woman, she was accomplished in so many areas: voice, violin, piano, art, sewing and so much more. She was a Bible teacher and spoke at many colleges. She had a natural gift of making everyone feel comfortable and at ease. Her only vice is that she was a chocoholic.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters; and one brother.
Survivors are her husband, Haun Kite; three daughters, Lou Nell Marcear and husband Dick, Joy Crass and husband Bob and Dayna Hooper and husband Dan. She also leaves five grandchildren, Rick,Kayla, D’Nan, Kent and Carrie; 15 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Schooler Funeral Home in Amarillo, Texas. Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 17, 2013 at Church of Christ at the Colonies. Interment will be in Shooks Chapel Cemetery, Sulphur Springs, Texas. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo, Texas.
